The Bauertology Résumé Calculation Tool, or BRCT (pronounced “bracket”) for short, is a results-based metric that measures how deserving all 365 Division I men’s basketball teams are of receiving an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
This factor of deservingness is expressed in a single BRCT score, which is calculated by measuring the quality of a team’s wins and losses (determined through a formula that factors in the win-loss result, the opponent’s NET ranking, and the game’s location) alongside a team’s overall scoring margin (capped at plus- or minus-50 per game), adjusted for schedule difficulty.
In addition to overall BRCT score, the table below is searchable and sortable by team name, conference, NET rank, games played, résumé score, efficiency score, raw scoring margin, and difficulty factor.
Numbers are updated once daily in the morning after the completion of a day’s results and subsequent NET update by the NCAA.
