Bauertology: 3/10/22 (Quick Update)

Hey, all! From here on out, I’m going to try to post a new bracket every day to account for the shifting results in conference tournaments. I’m not going to have time to do a full scrub for the seed list every night (busy with work and all that), but obviously I’ll have that done for my final bracket on Sunday, and I’ll see if I can do that for either tomorrow’s bracket or Saturday’s bracket.

Today’s bracket does not have a full scrub, but it does have a couple quick updates:

  • Wake Forest falls out of the field after suffering a Q3 loss to Boston College in the ACC tournament, bringing SMU into the field.
  • Xavier stays in the field after a Q3 loss to Butler in the Big East tournament (their five Q1 wins are saving them), but they do fall to the Last Four In and are jumped by Rutgers. Because of weirdness with Big Ten teams in the 6/11/3/14 pods, Rutgers stays a 12 seed, but lands ahead of Wyoming and Xavier (11 seeds, Last Four In) in the true seed list.
  • A couple new automatic bids that were absent in the last update join the field (Delaware, Jacksonville State, Wright State) as well as a new projected MAAC automatic bid (Saint Peter’s) following Iona’s shocking loss in the MAAC tournament to Rider. (And no, the Gaels don’t have much of an at-large case. They’re NIT-bound.)

And that’s about it! Enjoy Bauertology for Thursday, March 10, and enjoy those conference tournaments! It’s truly the best time of year.

P.S. Let me know if you spot any factual/logistical errors. I did put this together somewhat hastily, so I may have missed something.
